Job Summary

The U.S. Committee for Refugees and Immigrants (USCRI) is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Program Coordinator to lead the implementation of its Welcoming Communities Program in Mexico. The successful candidate will be responsible for directing the program's activities, supervising staff, and ensuring the successful execution of events and services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and consolidate activities across the three components of the Welcoming Communities Program
  • Supervise and organize events, including university committee meetings, leadership gatherings, and intercultural mobility weeks
  • Plan site visits to amplify and consolidate the University Allies Network and Student Committees
  • Maintain routine meetings with national and international points of contact related to the program
  • Draft concept notes, budgets, and other necessary tools to plan events
  • Compile reports and records of events for all activities
  • Represent the Welcoming Communities Program in events and participation
  • Establish routine follow-up meetings with program officers assigned to each component of the program
  • Collaborate with the communications team to develop audiovisual materials for events, presentations, and social media communications
  • Conduct and update presentations and workshops on the program
  • Develop and update manuals and work instruments for internal use
  • Site visits to conduct workshops on providing higher education to refugees
  • Maintain communication with coordinators and directors requiring partnerships
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution; Master's degree in business, social services administration, non-profit management, or related field preferred
  • Minimum of one year of professional work experience with supervisory and program management experience
  • Experience in the development, execution, and reporting of programs
  • Experience in event organization, budget management, and migration-related themes
  • Demonstrated commitment to humanitarian response, for refugees, immigrants, asylum seekers, and/or other vulnerable populations
  • Strong leadership experience and team-building skills, with the capacity to serve as lead for provision of trauma-informed, culturally appropriate, and competent client care
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing to government funders, donors, clients from diverse cultural backgrounds and experience, multicultural staff, community partners, and volunteers
  • Exceptional time management, attention to detail, ability to multi-task, and meet deadlines
  • Strong decision-making skills and capacity to delegate decision-making to team members
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, financial systems, and database programs
  • Commitment to USCRI's values, including demonstration of respect for others and appreciation of a multicultural workplace
  • Must pass a criminal background check and other screening requirements
  • Spoken and written Spanish and English is required
Training Requirements
  • Satisfactory completion of USCRI's Orientation and Training
  • Complete additional training as identified by supervisor or Human Resources
