About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Safety Manager to join our team at Ironbit. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for providing leadership and expertise in the development and implementation of our health and safety programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Implement Health and Safety Programs: Design, implement, and continuously improve enterprise-wide health and safety strategy and programs consistent with industry best practices.
  • Maintain Safety Standards: Maintain safety standards and initiatives that improve performance, reduce risk, mitigate incident frequency and severity, and meet regulatory/compliance requirements.
  • Assess and Improve Health and Safety Organizational Structure: Assess and drive implementation of optimal health and safety organizational structure, tools, training, programs, governance, and accountability models.
  • Ensure Compliance: Ensure appropriate health and safety related internal controls, oversight, governance, and measurement systems are in place to meet compliance requirements across the business.
  • Provide Technical Expertise: Provide technical expertise and thought leadership, create synergies and leverage knowledge, personnel, best practices, and resources across the organization.
  • Lead and Support Business Continuity: Lead and support the facility-based business continuity process, including the development, maintenance, and testing of plans across the organization.
  • Communicate Safety Information: Contribute written submissions or otherwise support Safety communications through newsletters, social media, new employee orientation sessions, and similar.
  • Coordinate Leave Administration: Coordinate effectively with Human Resources on leave administration and the corrective action process relative to work-related illnesses and injuries.
  • Develop and Maintain Accident Investigation Program: Develop and maintain an aggressive accident investigation program, including thorough investigation of all accidents, identification of root causes, and developing effective programs to prevent recurrence, along with company-wide communication and education on the same.
  • Conduct Safety Reviews and Audits: Conduct (or coordinate) on-site Safety reviews and audits at all locations to ensure compliance with safe working operations as specified and required by Federal, State and Local authorities and company policy and procedure.
  • Monitor and Ensure Compliance: Monitor and ensure compliance with regularly scheduled Safety meetings, facility inspections, and emergency drills at all locations.
  • Provide Regular Reports: Provide regular written and/or oral reports to senior leadership on the Safety program's successes and challenges.
  • Oversee Security Program: Oversee the security program and systems at all company headquarters.
  • Work with Management: Work with management to oversee overall facility safety. Create and monitor a monthly safety training plan to promote a safe work environment.
  • Identify and Interpret Regulations: Identify and interpret applicable regulations and proactively inform management of issues and potential solutions.
  • Develop and Deliver Training Programs: Develop, implement, and deliver associated training programs. Maintain consistent communication with all team members and ensure that they understand and follow all company policies (emergency response & safety), laws, and practices.
  • Develop and Manage Record-Keeping Systems: Develop and manage associated record-keeping systems and processes.
  • Participate in Meetings and Project Teams: Participate in meetings and project teams as the safety compliance representative.
  • Conduct and Document Safety and Health-Related Facility and Equipment Inspections: Conduct and document safety and health-related facility and equipment inspections.
  • Analyze, Monitor, and Provide Recommendations: Analyze, monitor, and provide recommendations regarding areas of safety deficiencies. Participate in routine compliance audits and related assessment activities.
Requirements
  • Required: Bachelor's in Health & Safety Management or related degree
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar position in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with all levels in the organization in a team environment.
  • Working knowledge of World Class Safety practices.
