About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Policy, Government Affairs, ESG and Communications Director to join our team at bioMerieux BV. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in developing and implementing strategies to drive our reputation, social impact, and positioning in the market.

Key Responsibilities

  • Public Policy and Government Affairs:
    • Cocreate and lead the execution of the company's public policy strategy, tactics, and initiatives in its prioritized region, ensuring alignment with business goals and regulatory requirements.
    • Shaping women's health ecosystem with focus on sexual and reproductive health (contraception, biosimilars, fertility, and maternal mortality) access and funding.
    • Address external affairs, legislative, regulatory, and communication towards realizing company's mission & vision while taking the leadership in the execution for the organization in the markets assigned.
    • Objectives in a wide range of priorities, healthcare reform, pricing and reimbursement, trade and intellectual property protection, and therapeutic area policy.
    • Carrying out this role requires ongoing interaction and strong collaboration with other functions as well as with Cones Directors and country teams, and other key internal and external stakeholders.
    • Establish and maintain transparent, solid, and sustainable relationships with key stakeholders relevant to the priorities and objectives.
    • Pull through on policy and access initiatives to generate demand, create/expand business opportunities, and enhance better positioning of the OGN portfolio in the market.
    • Being an active team player to define and execute strategies to promote our competitiveness for the new launches.
    • Monitor, analyze, and identify potential opportunities/risk in the legislative developments in the region that could have an impact in the business development and establish proactive mitigation plans, as needed.
    • Advocate for the company's interests with all the relevant stakeholders.
    • Targeted engagement with tangible outcomes with policy makers, payers, relevant customers, civil society, private/multilateral organizations, thought leaders, and media on corporate priorities.
    • Prepare and present policy briefs, position papers, and reports aligned with the strategic priorities.
  • Strategic Communications:
    • Cocreate and execute comprehensive internal and external communication strategies as a driver to enhance OGN Brand Positioning as subject matter expert in WH by generating credibility and trust with our audiences.
    • Take great care to monitor and manage the reputation of our company communicating the work we do to have a better and healthier every day for every woman.
    • Ensure consistent, clear, and effective narrative across all communication channels, including press releases, social media, internal communication, and external corporate publications in a close work with the LAMEX Communications, ESG, and strategic Alliances Team.
    • Be part of the crisis communication committee.
    • Collaborate with different OGN areas to align communication efforts with business objectives and enhance corporate goals.
    • Participate in the assessment of communication campaigns effectiveness/impact to replicate them and/or adjust strategies as needed.
  • Sustainable Finance and ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance):
    • Leverage on current global and local investment on ESG and sustainable finance projects and/or explore new opportunities to advance and attract funds for sustainable finance projects to achieve purpose-driven outcomes, engagement, and connection with business opportunities.
    • Responsible for monitor and report on the company's performance in sustainability, social impact, and corporate governance to the appropriate global, regional, and local stakeholders.
    • Engage with internal and external stakeholders to foster sustainable and socially responsible practices positioning, OGN as a top leader company in the LAMEX region.
    • Stay updated on ESG trends, best practices, and regulatory requirements to ensure the company's compliance and competitiveness.
    • Drive impact in sexual and reproductive health through ESG programs and sustainable finance projects according to business priorities.
    • Being the primary point of contact for the potential investors, partners, potential investors, or network associated to ESG and sustainable finance projects in a coordinated teamwork with the Communications, ESG, and strategic Alliance LAMEX Team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree required: Public Policy, Communications, Business Administration, Economics, Health, or Attorney or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • Project Management knowledge and Commercial understanding.
  • Familiarity with compliance guidelines and data protection legislation.
  • Experience managing and developing leadership by influence.
  • Extensive multicounty experience (according to the scope of the job) in public policy, corporate communications, and ESG within the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry.
  • Strong understanding of legislative and regulatory processes, stakeholder engagement, strategic planning, and connection with business objectives, cross-functional work, and communication best practices.
  • Completed a program or diploma in any policy-related course.
  • At least 8 years of experience in Policy or related roles.
  • Expected to have excellent English communication skills.
  • MS Office: Outlook, Excel, Power Point.
  • Leadership, strategic thinking, and analytical skills.
  • Multicounty Team management.
  • Outstanding communication, influence, and presentation abilities.
  • Problem-solving, Adaptability, Collaboration, and Teamwork.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders, including government officials, industry leaders, civil society, and multilateral organizations, among others.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multicultural and matrix environment.
  • Fluency in English and Spanish.
