Position Overview
The Sales Operations Manager is tasked with structuring our sales force to achieve targeted outcomes for pumps, components, and services outlined in the annual financial plan for the region. This role involves delegating objectives and responsibilities to our sales personnel based on their strengths to meet our strategic goals. Regular reporting of performance metrics and market analysis to the Senior Team Leader is essential, along with addressing customer satisfaction and any issues that arise.
Key Responsibilities
PRIMARY DUTIES:
• Organize the sales team effectively, leveraging the unique skills of each member to optimize collective performance.
• Set clear targets and actionable plans for our engineers to meet annual objectives.
• Assess individual performance against established goals and provide constructive feedback for improvement at key intervals.
• Deliver monthly performance reports and forecasts to the Senior Team Leader.
• Share insights on strategic initiatives, market trends, and customer experiences with the Senior Team Leader on a monthly basis.
• Continuously review potential sales opportunities using the IRR tool in collaboration with our engineers.
• Offer both technical and commercial support to our engineers for every proposal submitted.
• Conduct thorough reviews of proposals from a technical and commercial perspective before they are sent to clients and distributors.
• Collaborate with sales representatives to monitor customer engagement and ensure successful conversions into purchase orders.
• Accompany sales representatives on weekly customer visits to address any technical or commercial inquiries regarding proposals.
• Coordinate with operations to secure advanced technical support, timelines, and competitive pricing for key projects to enhance proposal competitiveness.
• Participate in kickoff meetings with clients and operations for every new project order.
• Review and authorize new purchase orders for processing.
• Engage actively in company-led conferences, seminars, and training sessions.
• Collaborate with sales engineers during product presentations for clients.
• Organize biweekly sales meetings to provide updates on active proposals.
• Attend monthly sales conferences with distributors alongside sales representatives.
• Participate in monthly Vertical and Horizontal API project meetings with the U.S. team.
• Review e-quote logs regularly to ensure all proposals are updated biweekly.
• Assist the team with warranty claims in accordance with internal policies.
• Support the credit department in resolving customer payment issues.
• Evaluate and approve the qualifications of candidates for the sales department as necessary.
• Coordinate travel arrangements for engineers for client visits as needed.
• Monitor departmental expenses and report on monthly savings.
• Adhere to official regulations and company standards for Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) programs.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor that are not explicitly covered in this job description.
Position Qualifications
EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
EXPERIENCE: Minimum of 3 years in a similar role.
SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE / TECHNICAL SKILLS: Familiarity with various markets, product offerings, applications, customer needs, competitive landscape, hydraulics, materials, sealing systems, electric motors, maintenance & repair, and aftermarket services.
• At least three (3) years of experience in comparable positions.
• Proficient in English, both written and spoken, at a 90% level.
• Technical expertise related to centrifugal and twin-screw pump applications across all markets.
• Knowledge of products and systems for managing proposals.
• Understanding of market dynamics, customer relationships, and key contact development.
• Strong interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with team members and clients.
