Inventory Management Specialist

As a key member of the Wesco team, the Senior Manager of Inventory will be responsible for overseeing and managing inventory for assigned locations to optimize investment while providing high-level service to customers.
Key Responsibilities:- Monitor and adjust order review points and economic order quantity levels to make informed stock decisions.
- Standardize and maintain inventory attributes for purchasing and inventory systems and databases.
- Utilize reports, inventory applications, and processes to achieve and exceed expectations of fill rate and on-time delivery objectives.
- Create, implement, and execute inventory optimization plans and programs to achieve working capital objectives for asset management.
- Rationalize and standardize the supplier base within assigned locations to increase preferred supplier utilization and purchasing leverage.
- Review on-time deliveries, supplier fill rates, and error reports to evaluate supplier performance.
- Work to obtain improved performance from suppliers as warranted.
- Use reports, applications, and programs to monitor and maintain stock levels, make stock decisions, conduct branch shuffles, and minimize inventory write-offs.
- Manage FIFO inventory valuation with multi-currency purchases within countries.
- Develop analysis and calculations for setting minimum and maximum to right-size inventory for customer SKUs.
- Incorporate customer forecasts into inventory requirements to prevent overstock and stock-out conditions.
- Coordinate with site personnel and customers globally to seek approval and implement inventory recommendations.
- Lead SKU rationalization across customer locations and stock locations within facilities.
- Assist customers with categorization and attribution of inventory to identify critical, high-usage, and obsolete items.
- Work with customers to provide value-added service for the disposition of obsolete and excess material from inventory.
- Assist customers in meeting inventory targets.
- Develop a cycle count program to meet customer KPIs and organization's internal requirements.
- Assist in recruitment, selection, training, and coaching of personnel.
- Develop and train employees in activities related to job function requirements, including purchasing procedures, PC knowledge, quality systems, etc.
- Provide strong leadership to personnel to meet and exceed performance objectives and encourage professional development to ensure future growth and reduce turnover.Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain or business-related field required; Master's degree preferred.
- Increasing responsibility in inventory management - 5 years required; 8 years preferred.
- Knowledge of commonly used purchasing and inventory concepts, practices, and procedures.
- Strong interpersonal skills to demonstrate teamwork, leadership, and flexibility while working with all levels of the organization.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to organize and prioritize tasks to ensure completion.
- Strong mathematical, analytical, and computer skills to interpret complex data.
- Strong time management skills.
- Ability to work independently, exercise good judgment, and find solutions.
- Ability to explain and teach policies, procedures, and practices to other employees.
