About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Corporate Compliance and Litigation Manager to join our team at Kansas City Southern. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and managing litigation cases.

Responsibilities
  • Monitor compliance with railroad regulatory service laws, regulations, and commitments.
  • Provide legal advice on regulatory issues, concession matters, and applicable laws.
  • File reports and official responses with relevant authorities.
  • Deal with verifications and inspections performed by SICT and ARTF.
  • Keep a record of the Mexican Railway Registry.
  • Perform internal reviews and audits to ensure compliance.
  • Ensure terminal obligations and permits are met.
  • Monitor compliance with telecommunications law and data protection privacy law.
Litigation Management
  • Manage administrative, commercial, civil liability, tax, customs, agrarian, labor, and criminal litigation cases.
  • Coordinate outside law firms handling litigation and participate in strategy formation.
  • Negotiate out-of-court settlements for debts arising from railroad traffic, demurrage, and damages.
Ideal Candidate Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Law.
  • Regulatory and litigation law experience.
  • Compliance manager experience with due diligence expertise.
  • At least 15 years of professional experience.
  • Fluency in English.
