About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Analyst Compliance to join our team at American Express. As a key member of our Compliance department, you will play a critical role in ensuring the company's operations are conducted in compliance with regulatory and legal requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in ensuring day-to-day operations are conducted in compliance with regulatory and legal requirements and company policies.
  • Participate in compliance reviews of business units.
  • Analyze transaction monitoring, PEP and sanction screening alerts on a daily basis.
  • Conduct gap analysis of current applicable AML regulations for financial and non-financial sectors.
  • Support the MLRO in the oversight of Mexico's AML program by providing relevant regulatory insight, development of executive presentations and executive reports.
  • Perform MIS activities related to the status of Mexico's AML program.
  • Develop and continuously enhance AML regulatory reports.
  • Support the management and organization of the local AML Committee: development of minutes, follow-up on cases discussed and timely execution of action items post-meeting.
  • Support the management of enterprise and local AML Modernization projects/initiatives. Participate on periodic calls and provide valuable input to achieve objectives. Strong partnership and collaboration with GFCC.
Requirements
  • 2-year experience in the Financial Crimes Compliance related area is required.
  • Knowledge of Mexico's AML regulation applicable to financial and non-financial sector is a must.
  • Bachelor's degree in Law, Business Administration or Systems Engineering.
  • Proficiency in both English and Spanish is required.
  • Advanced knowledge and management of Microsoft Office applications, mainly Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Solid analytical, wide enterprise thinking and problem-solving skills are required.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • CAMS or local AML regulatory certifications preferable.
  • Expertise in data analytics and management of AXP Systems is preferable.
