Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Global Demand Planner to join our team at Jabil Circuit. As a key member of our supply chain organization, you will be responsible for managing demand, statistical planning analysis, and inventory activities for a global business unit on a worldwide basis.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Global Demand Planning: Coordinate planning activities in support of the long-term supply plan and customers' service level agreements.
  2. Forecast Management: Manage forecasts from customers, including development and refinement of the process, analysis of demand changes, customer interface, and communication of the weekly build requirement to Jabil factories.
  3. Contractual Agreement Management: Understand contractual agreements between customers and Jabil on material liability prior to loading demand in Master Production Schedule (MPS).
  4. Demand Validation: Validate the legitimacy of customer demand through analysis of historical shipments, upcoming extraordinary events, production plans in other regional sites, and frequent discussions with customer site master planners.
  5. Build Plan Management: Ensure an aggressive, yet achievable build plan is loaded into MPS by evaluating material and capacity sizing activities for thoroughness and accuracy.
  6. Analysis and Documentation: Prepare analysis and documentation to support the Global Planning Manager as part of the collaborative Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) meeting with the customer.
  7. Forecast Finalization: Finalize the collaborative forecast with the customer and develop a long-term master schedule for each site workcell.
  8. Schedule Communication: Communicate the long-term master schedule to each site workcell and act as a subject matter expert for the site workcells regarding customer demand and long-term Jabil production schedule.
  9. Liability Negotiation: Negotiate reduced impact to Jabil's liability based on demand changes with the customer.
  10. Inventory Management: Balance the need for customer satisfaction as measured by On-Time Shipments (OTS) versus the carrying cost and cash flow impact of excess inventory.
  11. Safety Stock Proposal: Develop strategic safety stock proposals to meet customer service expectations, protect against poor supplier delivery or quality.
  12. Customer Communication: Communicate with the customer on the overall ability of the Jabil site workcells to meet demand based on material and capacity constraints reported by the global workcells.
  13. Planning Data Management: Maintain critical planning data elements in DMT and other systems such as product to family mapping, identification of NPI/EOL assemblies, etc.
  14. Forecast Cycle Support: Support and actively participate in monthly revenue forecast cycle.
  15. Quarterly Forecast Support: Support the development of quarterly demand and inventory forecasts for the Global BU quarterly forecast bid and lock.
  16. Financial Impact Analysis: Maintain a tool to understand the financial impact of MPS to forecast revenue variance at the business unit plant and global level.
  17. Trend Reporting: Periodically report revenue trend and risks to operations based on data received from global workcells.
  18. Delivery and Inventory Reporting: Report trend data for on-time delivery, MPS alignment to financial forecast, and inventory on the business unit level based on data received from the factories.
  19. Site-Level Metrics Deployment: Assist in the deployment of business unit-level metrics to specific site-level targets for inventory and revenue.
  20. Lead-Time Analysis: Analyze internal lead-time metrics and make corrective actions based on the root causes.
  21. Inventory Requirements: Maintain Reorder Point (ROP) sizing, Hub sizing, and other finished goods inventory requirements.
  22. Material Allocation: Allocate materials to the correct sites globally.
  23. Demand Balancing: Balance demand globally to support regionalization and sales patterns.
  24. Critical Component Identification: Recognize critical components, pricing, lead-time, and high stocks and develop process changes and proposals to address these.
  25. Process Leadership: Provide direction and leadership in WIP tracking capabilities, BOM structuring, and process routings.
  26. Customer Interface: Act as a conduit between the business unit and the customer on issues related to forecast/MPS, inventory, ECNs, shipments, inventories, etc.
  27. Compliance and Safety: Adhere to all safety and health rules and regulations associated with this position and as directed by supervisor.
  28. Security Policy: Comply and follow all procedures within the company security policy.
Individual Performance Management
  1. Site Planning Performance: Align site planning performance metrics versus service level and process expectations.
  2. Performance Review: Review performance metrics and progress continuously.
  3. Training and Development: Identify training/development needs on an ongoing basis.
Team Performance Management
  1. Innovation and Improvement: Drive a mindset of innovation and continuous improvement throughout the planning function.
  2. Motivation and Consistency: Drive motivation levels within the planning organization supporting the customer and drive consistency of approach and performance in executing the Advanced Planning process between sites and in compliance with the Service Levels agreed by the customer.
  3. Effective Communication: Ensure that an effective forum for the exchange of ideas and information exists within the Manufacturing Engineering function.
  4. Coaching and Development: Facilitate/coach the Master Planners, Production Planners, and others within the planning function with regards to their roles & responsibilities within the team.
  5. Customer Relationships: Build and maintain effective customer relationships.
Job Qualifications
  • Degree in Business/Logistics/Transportation & Supply Chain
  • Minimum at least 3 years of work experience in planning/supply chain and customer service experience
  • Advanced knowledge in MS Excel proficiency
  • Good customer negotiation, interpersonal collaboration skills, and Sales & Operations driven
Knowledge Requirements
  1. Advanced PC skills, including training and knowledge of Jabil's software packages.
  2. Ability to understand, calculate, interpret, and communicate basic statistics.
