Purchasing Responsibilities:
TE Connectivity's Procurement Teams are tasked with acquiring materials, components, equipment, and services. This includes gathering quotations, evaluating bids, and awarding contracts. They conduct cost analysis and volume planning for commodities, assess vendor reliability, and identify new supply sources as necessary. Coordination of purchasing activities with manufacturing and engineering departments is essential to maintain inventory at planned levels, while also monitoring cost, schedule, and scope of assigned subcontracts to ensure optimal quality at the best value. Furthermore, they seek and propose cost-saving initiatives, including make vs. buy analysis, alternative sourcing, and vendor evaluation criteria, as well as developing specifications for new contract orders.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage purchase orders (POs), including creation, confirmation, and follow-up through to payment, tracking milestones, and resolving issues with suppliers and internal teams.
• Serve as the primary communication link to suppliers, establishing a regular communication rhythm and escalating suppliers that pose significant risks to the business (e.g., production halts, high financial impact, compliance with TE standards) to the appropriate internal level.
• Ensure material/component availability through optimization and inventory management, including identifying replenishment system strategies to share with Strategic Sourcing for negotiation and implementation.
Qualifications and Skills:
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Buyer, Purchasing Analyst, or Procurement role.
• Proficient in Material Planning and data analysis.
• Strong customer focus and a commitment to continuous improvement.
• Advanced proficiency in SAP and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.
Language Proficiency:
• Advanced English skills are required.
