Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute a regional segment strategy that is aligned to the overall global strategy. This will be based on understanding of customer needs, industry and competitive dynamics, and PPG position.
  • Market Assessment: improve knowledge-base of market landscape including segmentation of market, opportunities for coatings, current competitive landscape, and current PPG business and position within the region.
  • Industry and competitors: monitor and evaluate industry and competitor developments, marketing actions, products, position, strengths and weaknesses to anticipate competitor response to SBU initiatives.
  • Achieve regional sales and profit contribution targets.
  • Work with the Global Segment Manager to ensure alignment to global strategies.
  • Provide in-depth support for regions to identify and pursue opportunities, ensuring training and selling tools relevant to their segments are available and deployed.
  • Drive growth of advantaged product sales in the segment regionally.
  • Ensure coverage of key accounts in segment and advise in negotiation of regional contracts.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering, chemistry, business, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years' experience in strategy, marketing, engineering, or sales within the chemical industry.
  • Creative and critical thinking skills.
  • Proficiency in gathering and analyzing market intelligence.
  • Strong business acumen and ability to define, develop and execute new business opportunities.
  • Ability to translate/quantify data and make reliable decisions on viable business prospect identification.
  • Ability to engage external customers at all levels.
  • Experience and exposure to regional business dynamics.
  • Professional approach, self-motivated, team player, dynamic, creative and ability to work on own initiative.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Organizational skills and attention to detail.
