Regional Infrastructure Segment Manager

The Regional Segment Manager, Infrastructure is responsible for developing and executing the growth strategy for this segment within the assigned region. The role will work closely with global and regional sales, product management, marketing, technical, and supply chain functions.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Develop and execute a regional segment strategy that is aligned to the overall global strategy. This will be based on understanding of customer needs, industry and competitive dynamics, and PPG position. Work with other stakeholders to drive execution. Support overall business strategy processes.
  • Market Assessment: improve knowledge-base of market landscape including segmentation of market, opportunities for coatings, current competitive landscape, and current PPG business and position within the region.
  • Industry and competitors: monitor and evaluate industry and competitor developments, marketing actions, products, position, strengths and weaknesses to anticipate competitor response to SBU initiatives. Analyze competitors' offerings and strategically position the PPG offerings appropriately to succeed.
  • Working with the commercial teams, achieve regional sales and profit contribution targets.
  • Work with the Global Segment Manager to ensure alignment to global strategies.
  • Provide in-depth support for regions to identify and pursue opportunities, ensuring training and selling tools relevant to their segments are available and deployed.
  • Drive growth of advantaged product sales in the segment regionally.
  • Customers and key accounts: Ensure coverage of key accounts in segment and advise in negotiation of regional contracts.
  • Provide regional pricing guidance for select global products.

Minimum Required Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering, chemistry, business, or a related degree.
  • At least 5 years' experience in strategy, marketing, engineering, or sales within the chemical industry.
  • Demonstrates creative and critical thinking skills.
  • Proficiency in gathering and analyzing market intelligence. Ability to assemble and organize multiple sources of intelligence into a clear market assessment.
  • Strong business acumen demonstrating ability to define, develop and execute new business opportunities.
  • Ability to translate/quantify data and other information and make reliable decisions on viable business prospect identification.
  • Ability to directly and effectively engage external customers at all levels.
  • Experience and exposure to regional business dynamics and the ability to drive implementation of required activities across the region.
  • Professional and positive approach, self-motivated, team player, dynamic, creative and ability to work on own initiative.
  • Demonstrates strong verbal and written communication skills including the ability to clearly present recommendations and ideas to summarize complex issues.
  • Strong professionalism and work ethic.
  • Organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed.
