Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Purchasing Manager to join our team at Nemak. As a key member of our procurement team, you will be responsible for coordinating purchasing processes for services and materials, supporting plant operations, and collaborating with purchasing teams.

Main Responsibilities
  • Monitor and facilitate communication between plants and central teams to ensure timely and effective purchasing requests and results.
  • Purchase and manage samples during the New Programs development phase to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.
  • Collaborate with plant teams to implement AXIS initiatives, attend plant tours, and ensure the integration of SLA as part of operational and functional area evaluations.
  • Manage cost reduction initiatives with plants and functional areas, and develop and execute new ideas to drive business growth.
  • Validate business segment New Programs costing targets and ensure compliance with target costs at SOP.
  • Escalate issues to leadership once plant buyer and purchasing business partner levels have been exhausted, providing timely solutions and ensuring leadership on claim management towards suppliers.
  • Verify and monitor adherence to established purchasing processes and policies in plants and functional areas.
  • Ensure quality systems and supplier performance, charge back recovery, and supplier service rate compliance.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • Strong skills in sustainable purchasing, procurement and acquisitions, management, manufacturing process, and problem-solving.
  • Excellent decision-making, communication, action-oriented, negotiating, change management, results-oriented, customer-oriented, collaboration, innovation, and creativity skills.
  • Leadership competencies in people development, strategic vision, influence and persuasion, assertiveness, global perspective, and diversity, equity, and inclusion.
