Job Summary

The Night Manager I is responsible for overseeing all property operations during the overnight shift, ensuring the highest levels of hospitality and service are provided. This role represents property management in resolving any guest or property-related situation, personally assisting in resolving issues and completing tasks.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or GED, with 4 years of experience in guest services, front desk, housekeeping, or a related professional area. Alternatively, a 2-year degree from an accredited university in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or a related major, with 2 years of experience in the same field.

Core Work Activities

Monitoring Property Operations

The Night Manager I will monitor and ensure compliance with all Guidelines to Operations, ensuring all employees are in proper uniform and are properly groomed. They will also ensure employees are working in a safe environment, manage all period-end inventories, and review financial statements, sales, and activity reports to measure productivity and goal achievement.

Supporting Profitability and Revenue Goals

The Night Manager I will assist in the response and resolution of all guest issues received directly from guests or from Guest Relations. They will also assist accounts receivable clerks in all aspects of their job, keep all invoices due below 60 days, and monitor that the supervisor is researching/processing all chargebacks and rebates on a timely basis.

Supporting Human Resources Activities

The Night Manager I will promote participation in property safety-related programs, monitor employee attendance and records absences/tardiness, promote teamwork and employee morale, and keep employees informed regarding new operational procedures, standards, or programs.
