We are seeking a highly skilled Production Manager to join our team at General Motors. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for maintaining awareness of quality standards and communicating department quality goals to ensure the highest level of quality in our products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain good working relationships with employees, union, and management to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
- Implement and follow systems that prevent the recurrence of known issues to maintain quality standards.
- Participate in the selection of new employees and train, develop, and evaluate salaried and hourly employees to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their jobs effectively.
- Lead Global Manufacturing Systems (GMS) processes across multiple departments and serve as a lead resource supporting launch and pilot activities in assigned areas.
- Meet or exceed production cost schedule and maintain quality requirements.
- Promote safe work practices and achieve objectives for ergonomics, health, and safety, and housekeeping.
- Ensure team members receive adequate JIT (job instruction training) and coach, teach, counsel, and mentor Group Leaders in these responsibilities.
