About the Role:
ZF Friedrichshafen AG is seeking a highly skilled Senior Program Buyer to join our team. As a key member of our purchasing department, you will be responsible for managing the purchasing activities related to a defined program.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage Bill of Material cost for a program or set of parts within a program
- Develop cost-saving methods and opportunities to promote overall business unit productivity and supplier competitiveness
- Prepare and support commodity for contract and sourcing negotiations
- Analyze North American supply base to recommend suppliers for the approved supplier list
- Perform market research and monitor changes/trends for purposes of benchmarking and cost controlling
- Develop part family strategies in concert with commodity strategies
- Manage supply base in regards to internal and intra-company initiatives
- Investigate optimal suppliers for materials in a timely manner
- Track costs and statuses of negotiations, and maintain agreements with suppliers
- Explore methods/materials for total cost management and cost structure analysis
- Update tracking tools according to industry best practices and company policy
- Participate in continuous improvement programs to promote team efforts
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and reviewing professional publications
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Economics or related field
- 6+ years of advanced experience in a professional purchasing capacity
