The World Bank Group is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to coordinate and support the implementation of its 30 by 30 Zero Program in Mexico. The successful candidate will work closely with the Financial Institution Group (FIG) to develop and implement climate-focused policies, support the development of sustainable capital markets, and accompany the climate transformation of financial institutions.
About the 30 by 30 Zero Program
The 30 by 30 Zero Program is a 6-year project aimed at harnessing the financial sector in targeted emerging countries to scale up private sector financing for climate mitigation and adaptation projects. The program follows a holistic approach to create domestic markets for financing climate businesses, with tailored interlinked interventions at three levels: Policy, Capital Market, and Financial Institutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and support the implementation of the 30 by 30 Zero Program in Mexico, working closely with the FIG team and other stakeholders.
- Develop and implement climate-focused policies and regulations to support the development of sustainable capital markets.
- Support the financing of priority sectors, such as distributed generation of solar energy, and accompany the climate transformation of financial institutions.
- Provide advisory services to financial institutions to increase their climate finance capabilities.
- Coordinate the overall program's implementation, liaising with different teams involved at the Mexican and global level, and executing internal project management.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in climate finance, policy development, and program management. They will be able to work effectively in a team environment, communicate complex ideas clearly, and adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
