Job Summary

Johnson Controls International is seeking a highly skilled SAP Basis Operations Administrator to join our team. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for administering the configuration of SAP Systems and services for all JCI enterprise data centers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer the configuration of SAP Systems and services for all JCI enterprise data centers.
  • Monitor and evaluate system performance and perform tuning functions to achieve optimal system efficiency and throughput.
  • Monitor system resources utilization and support capacity planning by capturing data, analyzing trends, and making recommendations for HW upsize/downsize.
  • Provide 2nd level of incident and problem management with responsibility for resolution and root cause analysis of the most complex hardware and software issues within Operating Level Agreements.
  • Monitor vendors' support facilities for software updates and recommend and implement maintenance to keep systems current and well within vendors' support requirements.
  • Apply security policies to the SAP & Database platforms as determined by the IT Security group.
  • Maintain all SAP Systems and related software including upgrades, preventative and corrective maintenance through the change management process and within scheduled maintenance windows.
  • Provide for service continuity by executing backup and recovery processes and procedures to support recovery from hardware and application failures.
  • Maintain Disaster Recovery plans, procedures and test scenarios and participate in regular DR rehearsals.
  • Maintain SOX procedures, adhere to SOX policies and gather evidence for SOX audits.
  • Maintain knowledge of the latest developments impacting the SAP Basis Platform and make recommendations that will improve efficiency, throughput, capabilities, and/or capacity.
  • Interface and coordinate with Global Infrastructure Architecture, Project Engineering, Application Managed Services and Business teams.
  • Cooperate with people of different levels inside/outside the company and interact with teams to reach goals and business objectives.
  • Participate in planning and execution of server workload migrations and consolidations in conjunction with the Project Engineering Team.
  • Provide effective technical documentation to clearly communicate procedures and developments to other IT personnel.
  • Ability to recognize and respond to customer expectations with a sense of urgency.
  • Demonstrate customer service attitude and work ethic.
  • Adhere to the Company's Ethics standards.
Requirements
  • 3-5 years of SAP Basis platform experience (ABAP and JAVA).
  • 3-5 years Linux and Windows experience.
  • 3-5 years HANA Database experience. Experience with MSSQL, Sybase or Oracle is a plus.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (Google, Azure, etc.) is strongly desired.
  • Advanced knowledge and skills in all areas related to SAP Products and system software.
  • Strong analytical skills to understand, diagnose, and resolve technical situations.
  • Ability to work with a diverse group of people of different skills, backgrounds, departments, and management levels.
  • Excellent communication skills and proficiency in speaking English.
  • Requires off hours on call support.
