This Role

We're seeking an exceptional Director of Engineering to lead our Identity and Fraud platform team. As the leader of this team, you'll be responsible for building world-class frameworks to mitigate online and offline risks, verify user authenticity, and ensure policy compliance. Your expertise will help us drive business success and protect our customers' trust.

Responsibilities
  • Scope and Impact: You'll be accountable for developing the next generation of authentication and verification frameworks, influencing multiple products, features, tools, or infrastructure.
  • Demonstrated success in leading teams delivering organizational-level projects, with ownership of large, strategic, or complex areas within an organization.
  • Be a recognized domain expert, applying your knowledge and technological expertise to multiply your organization's effectiveness in delivering impactful products.
  • Review and provide feedback on features, technology, architecture, designs, time & budget estimates, and test strategies.
  • Manage project risks & engage in creative problem-solving.
  • Develop and evolve engineering and business processes to optimize team efficiency.

  • Shape your organization to work on the right things in service of customers while holding them accountable for organizational goals.
  • Recognize, influence, and resolve critical issues that jeopardize your organization's focus and direction.
  • Have a track-record of strong execution and meeting organizational goals.
  • Instill a sense of customer empathy within your organization.
  • Champion reliability and system health, ensuring long-term codebase and system quality.
  • Ensure your teams proactively identify and resolve tech debt or blockers impacting quality or execution.
Team Scale:
  • Manage multiple teams, typically through multiple managers.
  • A track record of managing teams of importance to the company or business unit, evolving into organizations or departments.
Requirements
  • Relevant Bachelor's degree (or equivalent practical experience) plus 12 years of relevant industry (or additional academic) experience.
  • Typically has managed for at least 6 years.
  • Proven experience building reliable, high-scale, cost-efficient cloud services.
  • Domain expert in identity management, fraud and trust management.
  • Well-versed in writing optimized code and architectural patterns for optimization.
  • Hands-on experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS).
Estimated Salary: $250,000 per year
