About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Big Data Engineer to join our Analytics Tooling team at Zillow. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining large-scale data processing systems and tools to support our business needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop scalable data processing systems and tools using big data technologies such as Spark, Flink, and Kafka.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and drive technical solutions.
  • Develop and maintain data pipelines and transformations to support business intelligence and analytics.
  • Work with data scientists and analysts to develop and deploy machine learning models and algorithms.
  • Contribute to the development of our data platform, including data warehousing, data governance, and data quality.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in big data engineering, with a strong background in Java or Python.
  • Experience with front-end frameworks such as React or Vue.js.
  • Strong understanding of data processing and analytics concepts, including data warehousing, data governance, and data quality.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Fluency in English and Spanish (both written and spoken).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with cloud services such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Experience with big data technologies such as Spark, Flink, Kafka, Airflow, and Databricks.
  • Experience with data analytics tools such as Amplitude, MixPanel, or BI tools such as Tableau, Mode, Thoughtspot, Metabase, etc.
  • Experience with data pipelines and transformations.
