About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Big Data Engineer to join our Analytics Tooling team at Zillow. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining large-scale data processing systems that enable our business to make data-driven decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop scalable data processing systems using technologies such as Apache Spark, Hadoop, and NoSQL databases.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and develop technical solutions.
  • Develop and maintain data pipelines to extract, transform, and load data from various sources.
  • Work with data scientists to develop and deploy machine learning models.
  • Ensure data quality, security, and compliance with regulatory requirements.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in big data engineering with a strong background in Java or Python.
  • Experience with front-end frameworks like React/Vue.js.
  • Strong understanding of data processing technologies such as Apache Spark, Hadoop, and NoSQL databases.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Fluent in English and Spanish.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with cloud services such as AWS/Azure/GCP.
  • Experience with big data technologies such as Spark, Flink, Kafka, Airflow, and Databricks.
  • Experience with product analytics tools such as Amplitude, MixPanel, or BI tools like Tableau, Mode, Thoughtspot, Metabase, etc.
  • Experience with data pipelines and transformations.
