We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Services Internal Control Specialist to join our team at ING Bank.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where you will be responsible for coordinating and performing update processes documentation/flowcharts and controls in compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley and Finance internal control frameworks.

You will understand and analyze potential failures, maintain and update the internal SOX reporting, and prepare period reporting as required by Global ING methodology.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate the documentation of allocated process workflow through extensive engagement, communication, and close collaboration with multiple stakeholders;
  • Maintain accurate Process/Control documentation matrix on assigned SOX and key control frameworks processes;
  • Review and assess both the design and operating effectiveness of the SOX controls and key control frameworks;
  • Keep close relationship with SOX testers to identify and address bottlenecks or potential deficiencies;
  • Support external financial auditor requests on SOX;
  • Facilitate and challenge control owners ensuring that the company addresses operating and financial reporting risks appropriately;
  • Escalate SOX and key control frameworks deficiencies, issues, or concerns immediately;
  • Maintain and update all aspects of the internal SOX reporting system;
  • Assist with the production of period reporting and status updates as required.

Possible salary range: $60,000 - $100,000 per year, depending on location and experience.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • At least 4 years of experience in financial services, financial accounting, financial reporting, management accounting, internal control, internal audit, or external financial auditor;
  • Big 4 experience is a plus;
  • Knowledge of Financial Services industry and economical changes impacting financial reporting and related internal controls;
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, excellent active listening skills;
  • Ability to communicate and inter-personal development skills to move toward a common vision or goal;
  • Flexible and adaptable; able to work in a continuously dynamic situation;
  • Problem solving and root cause identification skills;
  • Team player and able to work collaboratively with and through others.
