About This RoleWe are seeking a highly motivated Data Center Technician II to join our team in Queretaro, Mexico. As a member of our data center operations team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities and providing exceptional support to our customers.
Job DescriptionIn this role, you will be responsible for performing diagnostics and troubleshooting following standard procedures, quickly identifying the cause(s) of issues, and replacing faulty components with minimal customer and business disruption. You will also perform post-execution quality checks and verify that grounding, staging, labeling, and cabling are set up properly according to safety protocols, deployment standards, and planned Network Design Tasks (NDTs).
You will decommission hardware for simple changes and refreshes (e.g., memory upgrades, rebuilds) following standard procedures with minimal guidance. Additionally, you will follow procedures to communicate, report, and escalate incidents to appropriate Microsoft data center operations management units, Technician Leads, and engineering specialists.
You will assist and provide guidance to other technicians to complete challenging or complex tasks. You will also complete required training aligned to the role and workload; observe more experienced technicians to gain hands-on experience and relevant on-the-job training.
You will contribute to a positive and effective team environment by sharing information with others, contributing to regular team meetings, asking questions, and staying apprised of the status of others' work. You will have pride and a sense of accountability for the service quality, completeness, and resulting user experience; display accountability and ownership of the data center facilities.
Required Skills and Qualifications- Able to work on-site in Queretato 100% of the time.
- Flexibility to work 9 to 12 hours shifts, including weekends, and/or holidays.
- Flexibility to work rotating shifts.
- High school diploma.
- 1+ year(s) experience in repairs of computer hardware, servers, fiber optics and components supporting IT equipment.
- Fluent in English and Spanish.
