About the Role

Eaton Corporation is seeking a seasoned Category Manager to lead our Direct Categories of Spend within the North American region.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement effective sourcing strategies for designated categories, ensuring timely and uninterrupted supply at optimal cost and quality.
  • Manage supplier relationships, negotiate contracts, and oversee supplier performance to meet stakeholder requirements and company goals.
  • Collaborate with Global Procurement Category Managers and key stakeholders to define and deploy sourcing strategies for designated categories across North America.
  • Provide regional leadership and management for assigned categories, driving cost out and cost avoidance initiatives to positively impact annual commodity spend.
  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices, providing subject matter expertise to support regional operations in meeting compliance and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and maintain an approved supplier list, working collaboratively with locations to convert spend to strategic or exit supply base.
  • Support strategic projects on behalf of ITD North America, developing regional category strategy in alignment with global strategies and regional business requirements.
  • Build and maintain internal relationships with regional stakeholders to understand and influence requirements for assigned categories.
  • Lead supplier market analysis, qualification, and selection processes, establishing and managing regional cross-functional/cross-business teams.
  • Manage Eaton supplier relationships for assigned categories across North America, creating long-term supplier relationships to ensure deployment programs meet cost, time, and quality requirements.
  • Lead cost out and saving performance for assigned categories, identifying initiatives and managing cost out projects to maximize benefits.
  • Conduct supplier performance reviews, develop continuous improvement initiatives, and model Eaton's ethical conduct policy, values, and philosophy.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in procurement, preferably in manufacturing industry.
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and ERP systems (MfgPro/SAP).
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and analytical skills, with ability to work independently and collaboratively with SCM team and internal support services.
  • Travel required among ITD sites in France.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
  • Experience in buying different categories and surface treatment.
  • English language proficiency.

Additional Information:

  • Travel 20%.
  • USA Visa and Passport required.
