The Sr. Human Resources Generalist serves as a primary HR liaison for managers and salaried employees for assigned functional/geographical areas. This role is responsible for explaining HR policies and procedures and facilitating timely resolutions to issues or concerns among salaried employees.
Key Responsibilities- Analyze and provide advice to managers on methods and approaches to resolve employee performance and/or conduct issues.
- Promote direct communications and positive rapport in the work environment and ensure efficient employment processes, including recruiting for internal and external open positions.
- Coordinate and deliver various employee relations programs and projects.
- Execute daily basic HR activities across assigned location(s) covering multiple HR areas.
- Assist in developing local policies, while ensuring alignment with standard practices and procedures.
- Provide other HR support as needed.
- Monitor, help develop and implement appropriate associate recognition programs.
- Coordinate and develop associate activities and events (i.e., company picnic, associate outings, Children's Christmas party, associate sporting leagues) and community events (e.g., plant United Way Campaign Rally, Memorial Day Parade Committee, etc.).
- Recruit associate volunteers as necessary.
- Generate associate relations ideas and implement programs that will enhance associate relations.
- Maintain associate related files such as training, personnel documents, pre-employment files, and disciplinary documentation.
- Monitor associate attendance records to include, absenteeism, perfect attendance, personal days, and disciplinary action.
- Audit employee attendance, disciplinary and perfect attendance.
- Maintain unpaid personal tracking spreadsheet.
- A combination of education and experience equivalent to a four-year degree in Human Resources Management, Business, Organizational Development/Communication, or Public Relations and 3 year's experience.
- PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP certification preferred.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office and must be able to use information systems, preferably Oracle HCM.
- Must be able to type and enter data quickly.
- Must have excellent written and verbal communications and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to accomplish multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be able to maintain confidentiality of all HR-related information.
- Bilingual Spanish/English 3-5 years of experience.
