Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Worker to join our team at Marine Corps Community Services. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for performing a variety of maintenance and repair tasks to ensure the upkeep of our grounds, exterior structures, buildings, and related fixtures and utilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform plumbing repairs, including installing water heaters, garbage disposal units, faucets, and sinks.
  • Conduct carpentry tasks, such as rekeying and replacing digital door locking systems, and constructing or repairing wood or wood substitute items.
  • Perform gardening duties, including maintaining tools, equipment, and vehicles, and keeping the lodging facility in a desirable condition.
  • Operate vehicles to transport tools and materials to work sites, and may be called upon to drive the 10 PAX shuttle service in the absence of the regular driver.
  • Lift, carry, and set up materials and equipment, and work in a variety of environments, including inside and outside.
Requirements
  • Must be at least 18 years old and have graduated from high school or been awarded a certificate equivalent to graduating from high school.
  • At least two years of experience that demonstrates knowledge in the maintenance and repair of grounds, exterior structures, buildings, and related fixtures and utilities.
Working Conditions

The Maintenance Worker will work in a fast-paced environment, with a focus on providing world-class customer service. The incumbent will be exposed to dirt, paint vapors, and fumes, and must wear issued protective gear when needed. During states of emergencies, such as tropical cyclones, the Maintenance Worker may be required to stay on site as part of an on-site duty team to assist guests staying at the lodging facility.
