POSITION SUMMARY:
The Store Manager oversees the overall business operations and holds the primary responsibility for the store's daily activities. This role is essential in effectively mentoring, training, and guiding the management team to create a high-performing leadership group that meets sales objectives, adheres to merchandising standards, and achieves operational excellence. The Store Manager is expected to exemplify AEO values and Customer First behaviors in all interactions to foster a positive customer experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Leadership Inspire and motivate the team by articulating a clear vision that reflects American Eagle Outfitters' core values. Serve as the leader on duty, consistently demonstrating the brand's customer service standards and Customer First selling practices. Set and communicate clear expectations, holding the store team and oneself accountable for meeting all brand, performance, and behavioral standards. Foster effective relationships with associates, peers, and supervisors to lead positive change. Guide the management team through the effective application of AEO performance management tools and processes. Conduct productive weekly leadership meetings that align with and drive the business strategy. Actively seek personal development opportunities to enhance leadership skills and individual performance. Drive for Results Develop and manage the execution of the store business plan to drive key performance indicators and maximize business opportunities. Oversee controllable components of the profit and loss statement to meet financial and expense targets. Analyze reports and daily sales trends to make informed strategic business decisions. Educate and develop the team on business acumen to enhance overall performance. Lead the integration of technology to improve customer engagement and drive key performance indicators. Assess store sales and payroll goals daily, making necessary scheduling adjustments to meet business demands. Talent Management Recruit, hire, develop, and retain a high-performing management and associate team. Mentor and coach the store management team through successful completion of development programs to cultivate future leaders. Provide ongoing performance feedback through real-time coaching and scheduled evaluations. Develop succession plans to ensure career advancement opportunities for all associates. Oversee the annual review process for the management and associate teams. Collaborate with the District Manager on all compensation decisions. Enhance employee engagement by recognizing and rewarding outstanding performance. Ensure adherence to all employment practices and policies by the store management team. Address and resolve customer and performance issues promptly, collaborating with the District Manager as needed. Visual & Operational Execution Uphold company brand standards by maintaining a neat, clean, and organized sales floor and operational areas. Lead the execution of visual directives, ensuring timely planning and implementation. Analyze merchandise reports and direct appropriate merchandising strategies to maximize sales. Supervise the efficient handling of merchandise, ensuring compliance with operational procedures. Ensure the efficiency of all daily operational processes. Maintain compliance with store audit standards and loss prevention measures. QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum high school education or equivalent. At least 3 years of retail or equivalent management experience preferred. Strong skills in prioritization, interpersonal communication, problem-solving, and planning. Knowledge of employment laws and compliance with relevant regulations. Proven ability to manage complex and competing priorities. Excellent communication, presentation, delegation, and follow-up skills. Strong conflict management and resolution capabilities. Demonstrated proficiency in training, sales generation, and team leadership. Ability to analyze business trends and reporting to drive sales performance. Competence in coaching and managing performance effectively. Effective communication skills with customers and team members. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment. Flexibility to work a schedule that meets business needs, including evenings and weekends. Capability to perform essential job functions. Proficient in computer and technology applications.
