Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Power Management Applications Engineer to join our team at NXP Semiconductors. As a key member of our international team, you will be responsible for providing technical support during the design win and product development phases of our power management products.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support to internal and external customers during the design win phase, working closely with Sales, Marketing, and Field Application Engineers.
  • Interface directly with automotive customers (Tier 1 and OEM) to ensure technical expertise and support.
  • Own the customer-facing documentation, including datasheets and application notes.
  • Develop evaluation boards with graphical user interfaces and tools such as thermal and simulation models.
  • Collaborate with international teams, including Product Definers, Design teams, Test and Product Engineering teams, Characterization and Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) labs.
  • Design evaluation boards for internal and customer validation.
  • Specify graphical user interface requirements for connecting evaluation boards to computers.
  • Plan and prepare validation specifications, including planning and workload.
  • Validate new products at labs, including regulators, low power modes, and fault injection tests.
  • Develop automated tools to reduce validation cycle time.
  • Create and maintain customer documentation, including datasheets and application notes.
  • Create tools to simplify customer support, such as SMPS simulation models and thermal models.
  • Support technical teams, including Sales, Marketing, and FAE teams.
  • Support the integration of PMICs at customers, including training and schematic/layout reviews.
  • Participate in benchmark activities.
  • Answer customer Request For Quotations (RFQs) with existing products in our portfolio.
  • Collaborate with other Product Lines for System Solution support, especially with Microcontroller and Microcomputer teams.
  • Present and train power management and functional safety technologies implemented in PMICs to FAEs and customers.

Requirements

  • Master's degree or equivalent in Electronic Engineering.
  • At least 5 years of experience in automotive hardware development, ideally in the power management domain.
  • Good knowledge in Analog, Power Electronics, Switch Mode Power Supply (Buck, Boost, Flyback SEPIC) control loop, EMC testing, and noise filtering.
  • Lab measurement basics and standard lab equipment experience.
  • Circuit simulator experience: SPICE, Simplis, Verilog-AMS.
  • Software coding basics: C language, Python, Labview.
  • PCB development: schematic design, component placement, layout for SMPS converters.
  • Good debugging and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in working in international and interdisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to communicate concisely and clearly in English, with global team work experience.
  • Team spirit and readiness to travel worldwide.

Desired Skills

  • Understanding of relevant Automotive Electrical standards and technologies.
  • Functional Safety and ISO26262 knowledge would be beneficial.
  • Knowledge of circuit behavioral modeling.
  • Experience defining new analog IPs and IC architecture design.
