About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Consultant - Industry Expert to join our team at NTT DATA Services. As a key member of our industry consulting team, you will be responsible for providing expert-level consulting services to our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Investigate and Resolve Complex Issues: You will investigate and drive support resolution with our engineering teams, serving as a point of escalation for complex support issues.
  • Improve Runtime and Support Platform: You will help define and improve runtime while enhancing our support platform and application.
  • Develop and Share Knowledge: You will become a subject matter expert and help improve service elasticity, resiliency, and recovery times. You will also create documentation and code snippets to share with internal engineering teams.
  • Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: You will work closely with cross-functional teams to improve SDLC / Continuous Delivery OKRs, such as increasing release cadence and reducing incident rates.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: You must have a Bachelor's degree (U.S. or equivalent) and 3+ years of software development experience.
  • Technical Skills: You must be comfortable coding in Java or similar programming language, debugging, writing quality-of-life snippets, writing scripts for debugging and updates, and familiarity with Linux bash scripting.
  • Communication and Collaboration: You must be a clear, empathetic communicator and able to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Problem-Solving and Analytical Skills: You must be able to identify corner cases and add validations to demonstrate your problem-solving ability.
  • Knowledge of Standard Support Processes: You must have knowledge of standard support ticketing, prioritization, and SDLC processes and tools, such as Gitlab, incident management, and Jira.
Preferred Skills and Experience
  • Monitoring and Alerting Solutions: Experience with configuring monitoring and alerting solutions, such as Prometheus and PagerDuty.
  • Service Mesh Solutions: Experience with configuring service mesh solutions, such as Itsio.
  • Kubernetes Networking Configuration: Experience with Kubernetes networking configuration, such as Contour and Envoy.
  • Infrastructure as Code: Experience with infra as code, such as Terraform and Kustomize.
  • Large Scale SOA Java Deployment: Exposure to large scale SOA Java deployment, especially micro-services.
  • Data Analysis and Dashboard Tools: Familiarity with data analysis and dashboard tools, such as Grafana and Kibana.
  • Cloud Environment: Experience in Docker-based services running in a cloud environment.
