Key Responsibilities Collaborate with educators to seamlessly integrate curriculum with resource utilization and information literacy. Advise students and staff on their material and equipment needs, ensuring effective resource selection. Curate library media center resources that cater to the informational, educational, and recreational demands of users. Oversee the organization, circulation, and upkeep of library resources. Develop and enforce policies for the efficient use of technology, including facility organization and staff support. Employ both formal and informal instructional methods to teach essential skills for utilizing the library media center and technology. Facilitate information retrieval for students and staff through various sources, including print, audiovisual, and digital formats. Advocate for literacy and foster a love for reading, viewing, and listening. Collaborate with school leadership and faculty to establish a mission, vision, and objectives for the library media program. Actively engage as a member of the School Improvement Team. Contribute to the formulation of a long-term technology strategy for the institution. Assess curriculum developments and technological innovations to fulfill students' instructional needs. Serve as the technology liaison within the educational setting. Maintain an inventory of library materials, technology, and equipment. Manage various financial resources effectively. Prepare necessary reports for educational authorities. Collaborate with educators and students to promote the integration of literacy skills across all instructional areas. Ensure the library/media center environment is conducive to learning. Engage in professional development activities to enhance skills. Provide unrestricted access to the library media center for students and instructional staff throughout the school day. Assist students in gathering, evaluating, synthesizing, and producing media in diverse formats. Plan, instruct, and assess cross-curricular information access skills in partnership with classroom teachers. Organize and circulate technology resources and related equipment for optimal accessibility. Maintain a centralized, current bibliographic database for school technology resources through automation. Implement a public relations initiative that promotes the library media center's services and resources. Additional Responsibilities
Perform other tasks as assigned by school administration.

Job Requirements Degree from an accredited institution. Valid certification for Media Specialist. Recommendation from the District Library Information Coordinator. Other qualifications as deemed appropriate by the Board or administration. Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities) Bachelor's or master's degree from an accredited institution. Valid certification for Media Specialist. Successful completion of a technology competency assessment. Experience in managing school collections and selecting materials and equipment. Other qualifications as deemed appropriate by the Board or administration.

Physical Requirements

Ability to hear and understand speech at normal levels and on the telephone. Ability to speak in audible tones for clear communication in person and on the telephone.
