Key Responsibilities:
- Lead financial performance monitoring and control for assigned project portfolios, collaborating closely with IOD project managers.
- Analyze variances between monthly actuals, as-sold forecasts, and latest projections, generating margin waterfall analysis for key projects.
- Develop accurate and timely project forecasts and actual reporting.
- Engage proactively with IOD project managers to identify mitigating actions protecting and improving project margins, reducing erosion throughout execution.
- Establish or enhance project governance processes, including project billing, cost control, variance analysis, cash flow analysis, change order management, risk mitigation, receivables tracking, and post-mortem analysis.
- Cross-functional collaboration to track external and internal orders associated with the project; report end-to-end project profitability accurately.
- Ensure accurate project information is reported in Power BI analytics tools, local ERPs, and consolidation tools; prompt validation and reconciliation across all financial systems of the project financial metrics (OI, Rec, CM, backlog).
- Escalate material issues promptly to the Finance Business Partner – Global Product Group.
- Streamline project financial controlling processes, standardize and automate project reporting, working with FSCC to offshore project accounting tasks.
- Coach project managers on financial tools and reporting, increasing financial knowledge across the organization.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; MBA preferred.
- Individual contributor role with no supervisory responsibilities.
- Prior experience as Controller and/or Senior Finance analyst required.
- 5-7 years in a project controlling role in a complex global engineering environment.
- Experience challenging the status quo, providing world-class project financial reporting and analysis.
- Successful experience partnering with project managers to improve profitability and maintain/improve as-sold margin during project execution.
- Knowledge of project cost control and POC accounting/PA module in Oracle or equivalent.
