Trade Compliance Specialist

This position is responsible for ensuring the accurate and efficient importation of materials to Acuity Brands facilities, working closely with brokers, carriers, and various departments such as Sourcing, Buyers, Warehouse team, and Planners, while adhering to departmental KPIs and managing costs and charges associated with the operation.
Key Responsibilities- Provide support and follow-up to ensure the correct importation of materials arriving at the Receiving Point (RP), focusing on SPF, GPF, and APF plants.
- Urgent materials notified by the Planner Buyer via email or the Grupo EI portal are followed up daily.
- Analysis and release of detained materials in RP due to discrepancies (quarantines) at the 4 Acuity Brands Lighting plants: MPF, SPF, APF, and GPF, with the goal of maintaining a low quarantine KPI.
- Types of quarantines that require release include: No Documents, Exhaustive Previo, Discrepancy Packing List, Discrepancy Part Number, No Regimen / No Plant, New Product, No Country of Origin, and Damages.
- Each quarantine type has specific processes for release and time-sensitive deadlines.
- Regular communication with suppliers and planners to request packing lists or commercial invoices for boxes/pallets arriving without them.
- Reviewing the Grupo EI portal to verify material arrival, checking photos and matching information for each carton/pallet, including cases where boxes arrive without labels or with multiple labels per carton.
- Validating countries of origin, requesting confirmation from suppliers if necessary.
- Informing the Planner Buyer about canceled or closed purchase orders in the Oracle system, awaiting guidance on how to proceed with the material.
- Reviewing and coding invoices for port operations (ABL & HOLOPHANE) to facilitate timely payment to vendors.
- Reporting any incorrect charges to ensure accurate payment releases.
- Bachelor's Degree
- 1-3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
- Advanced English proficiency
