Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Import Export Assistant to join our team at North American Production Sharing. This role will be responsible for generating import and export records, comparing identification information and part numbers, and coordinating transportation for imports and exports.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and review inventories temporarily, submitting permit extensions as required with the support of the import/export department to Mexican authorities such as COFEPRIS/SEMARNAT.
  • Identify differences in product type and packaging, and coordinate transportation for imports and exports in a timely manner.
  • Keep accurate records of imported raw materials vs. physical inventory in the plant.
  • Follow up on the creation of purchase orders and coordinate air, sea, or land shipments and tracking of shipments from port to port.
  • Work with purchasing and engineering to create and classify new part numbers and changes to BOMs resulting from manufacturing changes.
  • Cycle count finished products and raw materials as needed to maintain a well-balanced inventory.
  • Participate in special projects as needed.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent, with a truncated degree in import and export or its equivalent.
  • Advanced level of English.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in import/export, compliance department, and coordination of shipments.
  • Experience with processing Federal Express - Domestic and International shipments.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical functions (add, subtract, multiply, divide).
  • Computer literacy with the use of Microsoft Office.
  • Experience with inventory management systems, a plus.
