About the Position

The FCO Internal Audit Specialist role presents an exciting opportunity for an ambitious audit professional eager to enhance their accounting and auditing skills through comprehensive exposure to a dynamic international business environment. This position focuses on evaluating the design and operational effectiveness of the Company’s internal control framework to manage and mitigate risks effectively. The Internal Audit department is designed for professional growth, offering training, development, strategic networking opportunities, and potential rotations into business unit roles. Internal Audit serves as a premier entry point into the Carrier Finance organization.

Our internal audit teams conduct risk-based assessments and propose strategic solutions to Carrier's business units. Collaborating closely with management, the Internal Audit group employs the latest auditing techniques and technologies to ensure value-added audits.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage in the execution of risk-based audits
  • Evaluate risks associated with key business processes, leading to the formulation of audit plans and specific audit programs
  • Contribute to the development of process maps for significant financial, business, compliance, and operational processes to identify potential internal control deficiencies and suggest improvement opportunities
  • Draft clear and concise audit findings
  • Participate in special projects aimed at enhancing departmental quality initiatives
  • Contribute to Sarbanes-Oxley compliance reviews

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business
  • A minimum of three (3) years of progressively responsible experience with Big 4 or multinational firms, or internal audit experience
  • CPA, ACCA, or CIA certification is a strong advantage
  • Proven ability to work effectively in teams and deliver on time
  • In-depth knowledge of internal controls and US GAAP accounting standards
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to collaborate across all levels and functions within the organization
  • Strong interpersonal skills to facilitate diverse teams towards operational efficiencies
  • Experience in project management, with strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, along with proven presentation abilities
  • Proactive and results-oriented mindset
  • Willingness to travel within North and Latin America, averaging 25%-30% of work time, with occasional cross-region travel (EMEA, Asia Pacific).
