Position Overview
The IT Systems Technician is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of IT services within the organization. This role involves the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of computer systems and related technologies, ensuring that all issues are logged and addressed promptly.

Key Responsibilities
• Provide comprehensive Help Desk support, documenting incoming issues in the ticketing system and escalating as necessary.
• Assist in diagnosing and resolving hardware and software issues across the facility and external locations.
• Support various computer and printer equipment, including barcode printers and scanners utilized in manufacturing.
• Ensure the functionality of telecommunication systems.
• Manage all aspects of PC hardware and software maintenance.
• Oversee inventory of data processing supplies and coordinate orders with the purchasing department.
• Collaborate with vendors to resolve technical issues related to computer systems.
• Monitor and manage nightly system backups, performing data recoveries when required.
• Safeguard the integrity and security of data files.
• Assess user needs and recommend suitable alternatives as necessary.
• Prioritize and coordinate all computer service requests to enhance operational efficiency.
• Analyze historical incident data to propose system enhancements aimed at reducing call volumes for recurring issues.
• Maintain up-to-date technical documentation for the IT department.
• Provide support via phone and in-person, guiding users towards effective solutions for known issues.
• Conduct hands-on visits to assist users when required.
• Maintain monitoring systems and escalate issues as needed.
• Manage user accounts and their security settings across various systems.
• Keep an accurate inventory of hardware assets, ordering new equipment as necessary.
• Adhere to the Change Control Process.
• Participate in training programs to stay current with technological advancements.
• Understand and communicate IT policies and procedures to the user community.

Qualifications
• An Associate Degree in a technical field such as Computer Science or Information Services, or equivalent certification is preferred.
• Comprehensive knowledge of computer systems, including various operating systems and software applications.
• Proficiency in hardware and software installation, testing, and operation.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure while meeting deadlines.
• Strong analytical skills with excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Self-motivated and organized, with a keen attention to detail.
• Capability to work in diverse environmental conditions, including production floors.
• Good vision, with or without corrective lenses, and dexterity to operate tools and equipment.
• Availability for on-call duties and occasional overtime.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted and to perform various physical tasks as required.
