About the Role
We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team as a Risk Stewardship Expert - Financial Crime in our Global Service Center. The successful candidate will have the management responsibility of a team of Risk professionals supporting the Risk stewardship teams across the region for FC risks (AML/AB&C/Tax/Sanctions/Fraud) and LoBs (CMB/GB and WPB).
Main Responsibilities
- Act as Sub functional lead in COE Mexico for FC Risk Stewardship, responsible for delivery of end results and contributing to planning, finances, budget, and policy development.
- Supervise a department or functional unit/area team, with responsibilities including managing resources, resolving issues, and implementing change.
- Escalate complex issues to senior management and act as a trusted advisor in governance forums, issue management, fostering a compliance culture, and optimizing relations with risk owners and control owners.
- Provide oversight and direct support to the Head of Regional FC and LoBs Risk Stewards, ensuring effective challenge of risks or control outcomes through analysis and review of Issue Management, L1 and L2 Controls, Inherent and Residual risks.
- Translate MI of existing 1LoD controls into summaries for 2LoD Risk Stewards to highlight potential gaps, enhancements, or expansions to the Bank's overall FC Risk coverage.
- Monitor issues management from various sources, including MSII's, Audit Reports, Assurance reporting, and monitor reviews, preparing and designing governance packs to facilitate understanding of the control environment of FC.
- Stay at the forefront of key regulatory changes, communicating proactively with business and sharing appropriate policy and framework to manage changes.
Requirements and Qualifications
- 8-10 years of experience in Financial Crime Risk or similar Risk function.
- Proficient knowledge across all Financial Crime risks in the financial services industry.
- Working knowledge of the line of business/function supported, as well as pertinent compliance risk policies and regulations.
- Strong understanding of how controls mitigate FC Risk and the various underpinning activities forming the overall Risk Management framework.
- Interpersonal skills, including collaboration and networking, with experience dealing with stakeholders and articulating the case for risk management.
- Excellent communication skill (oral, written, and presentational) with ability to influence others through compelling facts, thought-provoking discussion, and logic.
- Ability to interpret and analyse large volumes of information/data, providing succinct summaries for management.
- Experience working within a matrixed environment, preferably internationally.
Compensation and Benefits
