Job Summary

The Engineering Technician I role at BlueScope Buildings is a key position in our Engineering department, responsible for providing safe, creative, and quality structural and construction engineering solutions for internal and external customers.

As a Detailing Specialist, you will perform detailing activities on assigned projects, adhering to schedule and accuracy requirements. Your primary duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Creating detailed building parts and fab drawings from engineering design and project notes
  • Developing erection drawings, approval drawings, permit drawings, and anchor rod drawings
  • Developing your own basic product and procedure knowledge and improving technical knowledge
  • Uploading parts and editing parts into the manufacturing system and releasing to manufacturing
  • Collaborating with project teams to discuss problems and challenges and help create solutions to move forward in a cost-effective and efficient manner
  • Ensuring customer service needs are met by meeting schedules
  • Focusing on achieving department objectives and profitability goals and continuous improvement as part of a high-performance work team

Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or similar careers
  • Fluent English

Preferred Education and Experience Qualifications:

  • Some Pre-Engineered Building (PEB) or conventional steel experience
  • Software: Revit and/or Tekla
