Corporate Counsel-Real Estate

Amazon is seeking a highly skilled Corporate Counsel-Real Estate to join its legal department in Bangalore. This role will be responsible for supporting the company's rapidly growing real estate operations, providing counsel on a broad range of real estate and property matters.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support Amazon's real estate business on due diligence, change of land use, land conversion, contracts negotiations, license & permits, lease registrations, commercial contracts, and compliance.
  • Provide day-to-day advice to the business on real estate matters.
  • Work directly with the business, serving as corporate counsel on real estate matters.
  • Analyze and respond to regulatory and compliance matters.
Requirements:
  • L.L.B. (undergraduate law degree) from a recognized university in India.
  • A minimum of 10+ years of legal experience in Real Estate, permits and licenses, legal compliance and contracts.
  • Extensive experience and strong skills in drafting and negotiating contracts.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively communicate and coordinate complex issues and projects with diverse levels of management and employees.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • A mix of corporate law firm and in-house experience.
  • Ability to work independently while being able to contribute successfully to cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to simultaneously manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and computer skills.
