Job Title: Big Data Engineer

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Big Data Engineer to join our team at NTT DATA Services. As a Big Data Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining large-scale data processing systems using Spark and Scala.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop high-performance, reliable, and maintainable data processing systems using Spark and Scala.
  • Develop and implement data pipelines using Hadoop, YARN, and AWS EMR.
  • Work with data loading tools like Talend and Sqoop to extract, transform, and load data into various databases.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of database structures, theories, principles, and practices.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement data-driven solutions.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in big data and data science.

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of total experience in Java/Scala.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in Hadoop programming.
  • Hands-on experience with Kafka, NiFi, AWS, Maven, Stash, and Bamboo.
  • Hands-on experience with MapReduce jobs and good knowledge of Spark architecture.
  • Good understanding of Hadoop, YARN, AWS EMR, and database structures.
  • Familiarity with data loading tools like Talend and Sqoop.
  • Familiarity with cloud databases like AWS Redshift and Aurora MySQL.
  • Familiarity with Apache Zeppelin/EMR Notebook and workflow/schedulers like Oozie or Apache AirFlow.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on big data domain.
  • Proven understanding of Hadoop, HBase, Hive, and HBase.
  • Good aptitude in multi-threading and concurrency concepts.
