About the Role

The Senior Financial Manager will be responsible for overseeing various aspects of Credit Saison Mexico's financial operations. We are seeking a highly skilled professional who has a strong mindset for diversity and a fast-paced environment, and is a self-starter, self-learner, and self-contributor. This position will be in charge of building up a team of professionals to support the growth of the company.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Financial Leadership: Lead and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, including Big 4 BPO service providers, Big 4 auditors, and the financial department of our parent company in Singapore, to ensure the successful execution of financial operations.
  2. Financial Reporting: Coordinate with an external consultant to update Expected Credit Loss (ECL) provisions according to IFRS 9 and record them in the financial statements.
  3. Financial Statement Preparation: Prepare all required information and coordinate with an accounting service provider to prepare monthly financial statements, conduct cross-checks, and consolidate figures on a monthly basis.
  4. Tax Compliance: Prepare all required information and coordinate with an external tax provider to ensure timely filing of monthly and annual tax obligations, and conduct checks to verify the proper application of local regulations.
  5. Financial Analysis: Prepare monthly payment schedules and quarterly reporting packages in accordance with IFRS and coordinate with shareholders (Singapore and Japan) to complete consolidation of financial statements.
  6. Expense Management: Keep control of expenses, observe necessary internal approval, and payment items, including staff claims and external service providers.
  7. Transaction Management: Act as transaction maker in any type of operational transactions from our bank accounts.
  8. Accounting System Implementation: Implement and roll out robust accounting systems.
  9. Finance Policy Development: Propose, develop, update, and implement finance-related policies and standard operating procedures to enhance overall efficiency and effectiveness of the company's operations.
  10. Budget Management: Prepare, monitor, and control budget, and keep close control of the annual budget approved with monthly reporting.
  11. Treasury Function: Liaise with banks, manage cash flow, and control.
  12. Ad-Hoc Tasks: Manage any other ad-hoc tasks assigned.
Requirements

We are looking for a highly skilled professional with:

  1. At least 7 years of experience at an accounting or audit firm.
  2. Native or bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English (CEFR C1 or above).
  3. Knowledge in accounting and tax on Mexican GAAP and IFRS.
  4. Experience coordinating with external service providers and reporting to foreign holding companies.
  5. Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
  6. Ability and willingness to think outside the box and explore innovative solutions.
  7. Well-rounded understanding and mindset in corporate governance pertaining to accounting and tax.

Preferred qualifications include:

  1. Professional certification in Accounting.
  2. Experience in accounting treatment (IFRS 9) for Financial Institutions.
  3. Knowledge in accounting systems (technology). Ideal candidate has been involved in the setup of accounting systems.
  4. Experience in managerial accounting (e.g. cost allocation).
  5. Basic knowledge and skills in corporate finance and financial modeling.
