Job Description

Regional Project Delivery Director

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Regional Project Delivery Director to lead our efforts in creating a best-in-class Project Delivery capability across the region.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of delivering medium and large, multi-discipline, complex engineering and/or construction projects within a consulting environment.

The ideal candidate will have a University Degree in Engineering, Planning or equivalent, and will be fluent in Spanish and English language skills. Portuguese would be an advantage.

The Regional Project Delivery Director will be responsible for planning and managing a change programme that will ensure Latin America and the Caribbean is a visible and valued contributor to the global Project Delivery community.

The successful candidate will have significant experience in delivering major projects in one of our key sectors, and will have leadership skills to ensure all operations advance together.

The ideal candidate will also have experience in affecting organizational change within multi-disciplinary teams, and will have exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

The position can be in any of our offices in México, West Indies, Panama, Colombia, Perú, Brazil, Chile or Argentina.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and implementation of a best-in-class Project Delivery capability across the region
  • Plan and manage a change programme to ensure Latin America and the Caribbean is a visible and valued contributor to the global Project Delivery community
  • Develop and manage the adoption of a suite of integrated tools and processes that are aligned with WSP's current best practices
  • Engage regularly with each of the internal clients (the Country Managers and Regional Sector Leads) to ensure that they understand the plan, status, next steps and expected benefits
  • Position WSP as the employer of choice for the best PD professionals in the professional services space
  • Onboard, assess, coach, train and mentor our professionals to ensure we leverage the talent in the organization
  • Reduce margin erosion and manage operational risks to deliver enhanced financial performance
  • Organise and participate in project reviews, with a key focus on our Major Projects, to ensure projects follow the Project Delivery Framework
  • Monitor and analyze project performance and support teams throughout the project lifecycle
  • Ensure we report timely, accurate and complete information on project performance and the status of the Project Delivery Initiative to the various internal stakeholders
  • Analyze Key Performance Indicators (KPI's), trends and gaps across the region to assist with program/process improvements

Requirements

  • University Degree in Engineering, Planning or equivalent
  • Proven track record of delivering medium and large, multi-discipline, complex engineering and/or construction projects within a consulting environment
  • Fluent Spanish and English language skills. Portuguese would be an advantage
  • Significant experience in delivering major projects in one of our key sectors
  • Leadership skills to ensure all operations advance together
  • Experience in affecting organizational change within multi-disciplinary teams
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills: the ability to work well with people from different disciplines with varying degrees of technical experience
  • Strong strategic, conceptual, analytical thinking and decision-making skills
  • Adaptable and flexible including the ability to manage deadline pressure, ambiguity, and change
  • Negotiation skills within a context of political sensitivity and managing conflicting interests

Location
