About the Role:

ZF Friedrichshafen AG is a leading global automotive supplier, and we're seeking a highly skilled Program Buyer to join our team in Monterrey, Mexico. As a Program Buyer, you will be responsible for managing purchasing activities related to defined programs, working closely with cross-functional global teams, and serving as the functional expert for all purchasing activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage costed BOMs for new programs introduction, from quoting to customer through program development.
  • Assure component sourcing is executed on time and within financial business targets.
  • Develop and support cost-saving ideas to promote overall business unit productivity and supplier competitiveness for defined programs.
  • Manage the supply base in regards to internal and intra-company initiatives, capacity, cost, quality, and delivery.
  • Serve as an escalation point of contact for supplier issues, crisis management, supplier, and operations support.
  • Prepare and support Commodity purchasing for contract and sourcing negotiations.
  • Update tracking tools according to industry best practices and ZF company policy.
  • Track costs and statuses of negotiations, while maintaining agreements with suppliers.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Industrial Engineering, or related areas.
  • Proficient Microsoft Office user (i.e., Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Fluent verbal and written English. German is a plus.
  • 3+ years of advanced experience in a professional purchasing capacity.
  • Demonstrated performance in working cross-functionally within an international matrixed organization and working independently to obtain results.
  • Deep knowledge of purchasing tools, negotiation methods, and business communications.
  • Solid organizational and time/project management skills.
  • Experience with MRP systems (SAP, QAD, etc.).
