About the Role

Colegio Peterson is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Science Department Head to lead our Upper School Science Department. As a key member of our academic leadership team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing curriculum that aligns with our school's standards and promotes innovative teaching methods.

Key Responsibilities
  • Curriculum Development and Enhancement: Design and enhance curriculum to ensure alignment with standards and promote innovative teaching methods.
  • Instructional Support and Feedback: Provide instructional support and feedback to faculty members to ensure high-quality teaching practices.
  • Professional Development: Facilitate professional development sessions for staff to enhance their teaching skills and knowledge.
  • Data Analysis and Assessment: Utilize data analysis and assessment techniques to inform curriculum decisions and drive student learning outcomes.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders, including faculty, staff, and students, to ensure a cohesive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Departmental Management: Manage departmental budget effectively and make informed decisions to support the growth and development of the Science Department.
  • Technology Integration: Integrate educational technology tools and resources into teaching practices to enhance student learning and engagement.
  • Inclusive Learning Environment: Foster an inclusive and equitable learning environment that promotes diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, Physics, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Leadership and Organizational Skills: Strong leadership and organizational skills to manage the Science Department and lead curriculum development.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Curriculum Design and Development: Proficiency in curriculum design and development to create engaging and effective learning experiences.
  • Experience: Minimum of 4 years of experience in an academic institution, with a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Language: Expertise in English language and experience working with both middle school and high school students.
