Cost Accountant

The Cost Accountant is a key member of our finance team, responsible for overseeing and analyzing cost expenditures and reduction initiatives within our plant. This role requires a strong analytical mindset and attention to detail to ensure accurate data recording and validation.

• Cost Analysis and Optimization: Conduct thorough analysis of manufacturing process activities to identify cost-efficient options and make recommendations for cost reduction initiatives.
• Inventory Management: Oversee inventory control, including annual physical inventory and cycle counts, to ensure accurate tracking and reporting.
• General Accounting: Perform general accounting tasks, including fixed asset and depreciation control, to ensure accurate financial reporting.
• Profitability Analysis
• Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement projects to enhance cost efficiency and profitability.
• Audit and Compliance: Prepare and complete internal and external audits to ensure compliance with financial regulations.
• System Experience: Utilize SAP/ERP system to manage financial data and perform analysis.
• Performance Metrics: Track and analyze plant performance leading indicators to identify areas for improvement.
• Burden Rate Preparation: Prepare and analyze burden rates to ensure accurate cost allocation.

• Education and Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent work experience; CPA or MBA preferred.
• Work Experience: 3+ years of cost accounting work experience.
• Technical Skills: Knowledge of SAP, statistics, and Microsoft Office suite.
• Soft Skills: Analytical thinker with strong conceptual and problem-solving skills, meticulous attention to detail, and strong organizational skills.
