Job Summary:
The Cost Accountant is a key member of our team at Cooper Standard Automotive, Inc., responsible for overseeing, analyzing, and validating cost expenditures and reduction initiatives within the plant. This role requires a strong analytical mindset and attention to detail to ensure accurate data recording and validation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cost Analysis: Review manufacturing process activities, record and validate data, and make recommendations about cost-efficient and financially feasible cost options.
- Inventory Control: Manage inventory levels, conduct annual physical inventory, and perform cycle counts to ensure accurate stock levels.
- General Accounting: Maintain accurate financial records, including fixed asset and depreciation control, and prepare for internal and external audits.
- Profitability Analysis: Analyze financial data to identify areas for cost reduction and implement process improvements.
- Continuous Improvement: Drive projects to improve plant performance, reduce costs, and increase efficiency.
Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent work experience; CPA or MBA preferred.
- Experience: 3+ years of cost accounting work experience, with knowledge of SAP and statistics.
- Skills: Analytical thinker with strong conceptual and problem-solving skills, meticulous attention to detail, and strong organizational skills.
