About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Harness Designer to join our team at Leoni AG. As a Harness Designer, you will be responsible for developing wiring systems for technology projects, analyzing and updating system and domain requirements, and initiating/designing 2D, 3D, and schematic designs for wiring systems.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop Wiring Systems: Design and develop wiring systems for technology projects, ensuring they meet customer requirements and specifications.
  2. Analyze and Update Requirements: Analyze and update system and domain requirements, architecture, and design to ensure they are aligned with customer needs.
  3. Design and Develop Schematics: Initiate and perform 2D, 3D, and schematic design for wiring systems, ensuring they are accurate and meet customer requirements.
  4. Perform Design Reviews: Conduct design reviews to ensure that wiring systems meet customer requirements and are of high quality.
  5. Evaluate Test Results: Define validation plans and evaluate test results to ensure that wiring systems meet customer requirements.
  6. Create Bill of Materials: Create Bill of Materials (BOM) for wiring systems, ensuring that all necessary components are included.
  7. Maintain Knowledge: Maintain high knowledge about wiring harnesses and related production processes, staying up-to-date with industry developments and best practices.
  8. Use Relevant Methods and Tools: Use and perform relevant methods and tools, such as FME and DFM (Design for Manufacturing), to ensure that wiring systems are designed and developed efficiently.
  9. Evaluate Product Change Requests: Evaluate product change requests and provide solutions to ensure that customer requirements are met.
  10. Lead and Support Sample Build-up: Lead and support sample build-up and define technical requirements for products, ensuring that they meet customer requirements.
  11. Perform Product D2X: Perform product D2X (Design2Cost, Design2Manufacture) to ensure that wiring systems are designed and developed efficiently.
  12. Support VAVE: Support VAVE (Value Analysis and Value Engineering) to ensure that wiring systems are optimized for cost and performance.
  13. Act as Resident Engineer: Act as resident engineer if required, providing technical expertise and support to ensure that customer requirements are met.
  14. Support Customer Pre-RFQ Concept Projects: Support customer pre-RFQ concept projects, ensuring that customer requirements are met and that projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  15. Perform Technical Feasibility Study: Perform technical feasibility study and develop technical concept for change requests, ensuring that customer requirements are met.
  16. Perform Design Release Engineering: Perform design release engineering to ensure that wiring systems are released to production efficiently.
  17. Check and Evaluate Customer Requirements: Check and evaluate customer requirements and specifications, ensuring that they are met and that wiring systems are designed and developed accordingly.
  18. Provide Customer-Specific Know-How: Provide customer-specific know-how to ensure that customer requirements are met and that wiring systems are designed and developed accordingly.
  19. Support Technical Presentations: Support technical presentations to customers, ensuring that customer requirements are met and that wiring systems are designed and developed accordingly.
  20. Provide Technical Support: Provide technical support for CSO and COO areas and within CTO area, ensuring that customer requirements are met and that wiring systems are designed and developed accordingly.
  21. Integrate Results of Customer Sample Verification: Integrate results of customer sample verification (previous build phase, if applicable), ensuring that customer requirements are met and that wiring systems are designed and developed accordingly.
  22. Communicate with Customer Engineering Department: Communicate with customer engineering department on a regular basis and with supplier engineering department, ensuring that customer requirements are met and that wiring systems are designed and developed accordingly.
Requirements
  • Industrial, Mechanics, Mechatronics Engineering or Similar Degree: Industrial, Mechanics, Mechatronics engineering or similar degree is required.
  • 3 Years of Work Experience: 3 years of work experience in a related field is required.
  • Advanced English Language Skills: Advanced English language skills (80%) are required.
  • Ability to Work Result-Oriented in a Team Environment: Ability to work result-oriented in a team environment is required.
