Harness Designer

We are seeking a skilled Harness Designer to join our team at Leoni AG. As a Harness Designer, you will be responsible for developing wiring systems for technology projects, analyzing and updating system and domain requirements, and initiating and performing design reviews.

  1. Develop and implement wiring systems for advanced, product, and serial development projects.
  2. Analyze and update system and domain requirements, architecture, and design to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
  3. Initiate and perform design reviews to ensure compliance with company standards and regulations.
  4. Evaluate test results and define validation plans to ensure product quality.
  5. Create Bill of Materials (BOM) and maintain high knowledge about wiring harnesses and related production processes.
  6. Use and perform relevant methods and tools, such as FME and DFM, to ensure efficient design and manufacturing processes.
  7. Evaluate product change requests and provide solutions to ensure minimal disruption to production.
  8. Lead and support sample build-up and define technical requirements for products.
  9. Perform product D2X (Design2Cost, Design2Manufacture) to ensure cost-effective design and manufacturing processes.
  10. Support VAVE (Value Analysis and Value Engineering) to identify areas for cost reduction and process improvement.
  11. Act as resident engineer if required to provide technical support and guidance to the team.
  12. Perform/support customer pre-RFQ concept projects to ensure customer satisfaction and meet project deadlines.
  13. Perform technical feasibility study and develop technical concept for change requests to ensure minimal disruption to production.
  14. Perform design release engineering to ensure compliance with company standards and regulations.
  15. Check and evaluate customer requirements and specifications to ensure product meets customer needs.
  16. Provide customer-specific know-how to ensure customer satisfaction and meet project deadlines.
  17. Support technical presentations to customers to ensure effective communication and project understanding.
  18. Provide technical support for CSO and COO areas and within CTO area to ensure seamless communication and project execution.
  19. Integrate results of customer sample verification (previous build phase, if applicable) to ensure product quality and meet customer expectations.
  20. Communicate with customer engineering department on a regular basis and with supplier engineering department to ensure effective collaboration and project execution.
Minimum Requirements:
  • Industrial, Mechanics, Mechatronics engineering or similar degree.
  • 3 years of work experience.
  • Advanced English language skills (80%).
  • Ability to work result-oriented in a team environment.
