We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Program Specialist to support the implementation of our Protected Areas Strategy in Latin America and the Caribbean. The successful candidate will work closely with our team to coordinate projects and initiatives, build partnerships, and develop reports and communications.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate the Conserva Aves initiative in Mexico and Central America, working with programmatic and administrative staff of partner organizations.
- Support the Vice President Conservation and Conserva Aves team with day-to-day programmatic and administrative tasks, reporting, and communications.
- Develop and maintain relationships with partner organizations, including RedLAC and BirdLife International.
- Prepare project reports, manage budgets, and support communications teams in the development and publication of social media posts, website content, and newsletters.
- Occasional travel within Mexico and to other countries for meetings, field site visits, and workshops.
- Bachelor's degree in sustainable development, natural resources, conservation biology, ecology, or related field.
- Minimum of five years of related experience, preferably in conservation and sustainability, non-profit or for-profit.
- Environmental conservation work experience, particularly in protected areas and bird conservation.
- Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills, with ability to synthesize and communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Written and verbal fluency in Spanish and at least intermediate-level English.
The National Audubon Society is a nonprofit conservation organization dedicated to protecting birds and the places they need. We work throughout the Americas to promote conservation, sustainability, and environmental stewardship.
