About the Role


We are seeking an experienced Professional Video Game Tester and Quality Assurance Specialist to join our team at Lionbridge Games.



Job Summary:


The successful candidate will be responsible for playing assigned games to completion, documenting glitches and bugs in a specified bug tracking database, executing pre-written test cases, and analyzing test results. They will also contribute to existing testing content documentation, prepare test plans and reports, and serve as a technical lead contributing to test team. Additionally, they will assist in test environment setup and teardown, coach junior staff, and document user level manuals and systems manuals.



Key Responsibilities:



  • Play assigned game(s) to completion
  • Document glitches, bugs, and inaccuracies in specified bug tracking database
  • Execute pre-written test cases
  • Analyze test results, bugs, and usability and contribute to existing testing content documentation
  • Prepare Test Plans, Test Cases based on client specifications, and prepare reports
  • Serve as a technical lead contributing to test team
  • Assist in test environment setup and teardown
  • Assist in coaching junior staff by helping them to make decisions and solve problems
  • Serve as the main point of contact for the client and will work with the client to prioritize testing requirements
  • Be responsible for informally leading a test team on a variety of projects
  • Document the basic user level manual, systems manual
  • Provide feedback on progress and professional growth to team members as well as management


Requirements:


To be successful in this role, you should have the ability to prioritize in a complex and fast-paced environment, passion for video games, good interpersonal skills, creativity, efficiency, attention to detail, and good work organization. You should also have strong academic or practical knowledge of QA methodologies and tools, software testing standards, strategies, and the software development cycle. Adept writing detailed concise bug reports is essential, as is proven experience executing test cases; drafting and managing test cases for one or more features. Experience with industry standard test software such as JIRA, TestRail, Confluence, or equivalents is preferred, as is experience running build files with software suites such as Visual Studio. A minimum of 1-2 years of quality assurance experience is required, as is a practiced and analytical problem-solving approach. Preferred higher education in technology is beneficial.

Salary Range: $55,000 - $65,000 per annum (dependent on location and experience)
