About the Job

This is a unique opportunity to join the American School Foundation of Chiapas as a PYP Coordination and Curriculum Development Specialist. As a key member of our educational team, you will play a central role in leading the curriculum development, implementation, and improvement for grades K-5.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the creation, review, update, and implementation of the Lower School curriculum.
  • Ensure alignment with national and international standards and best educational practices.
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans aligned with the KG/Primary curriculum and educational standards.
  • Differentiate instruction to address the diverse needs of students and ensure all learners reach their full potential.
  • Incorporate educational technology tools and resources to enhance the learning experience.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and promote a cohesive educational experience.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities to stay informed about the latest educational research, trends, and pedagogical approaches.
  • Actively participate in or lead extracurricular activities, clubs, or committees that contribute to the overall school community.
  • Engage in reflective practices to continually assess and improve teaching methods and classroom effectiveness.
Requirements
  • Licensed Teacher
  • Minimum 3 years of teaching experience
  • Master's degree in Education or related field
  • IB experience and knowledge of the IB Program
  • Fluent English Speaker
  • Teaching certification in the relevant subject area
  • Experience as a curriculum coordinator
