About the Role

Swiss Re Corporate Solutions is seeking a highly skilled Team Lead Client Accounting Services Corporate Solutions to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring daily monitoring and steering of the delivery of service level agreements, ensuring adherence to risk and quality management processes and guidelines, and compliance with treaty terms and conditions.

The successful candidate will have a firm understanding of Technical Accounting (TA) in either direct commercial insurance or the financial industry, experience of TA systems and process landscape, and be a welcoming, convincing, and inclusive leader. They will be responsible for leading the Technical Accounting team in CorSo Division for Mexico and Miami operations, Direct Insurance Business, and Facultative Business.

Main Responsibilities:

  1. Leading the Technical Accounting team in CorSo Division for Mexico and Miami operations, Direct Insurance Business, and Facultative Business.
  2. Ensure that technical accounting processes and operations are compliant.
  3. Authorization of technical payments (in accordance with corresponding guidelines).
  4. Fostering a motivational team spirit.
  5. Maintain a strong operational rhythm, proactively handle our KPIs, and develop and maintain a culture of quality accuracy in all activities, agreeing on corrective actions when targets are not being met.
  6. Ensure efficient use of resources to handle workloads and projects, ensuring deadlines are met.
  7. Make significant contributions to internal and external process improvements.
  8. Client issue resolution: Strong communication with other Ops Team Leaders and collaboration with other functional areas to address client issues that cannot be resolved within the Ops teams.
  9. Deliver our value proposition to our stakeholders: agents, brokers, internal and external clients, and regulators.
  10. Ensure a robust control environment and work with Operational Risk and Compliance to ensure the key operational risks are covered and we have an effective control environment.
  11. Be a leader and partner to Operations and Finance teams by managing Technical Accounting in an effective, efficient, and compliant manner, considering Group standards and regulatory requirements.
  12. Establish an operational excellence framework to drive continuous improvement and standardization of our operational risk management and compliance approach for our comprehensive, standard, and international business.
  13. Monitoring RCSA controls (Risk & Control Self-Assessment).
  14. Ensure a business continuity plan for the operation.

About You:

  1. At least 5 years of experience in leading roles in the insurance sector including reinsurance.
  2. Effective leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  3. Result-oriented working style, with strong focus on performance, targets, and risk management.
  4. Pro-active business-oriented approach: understand customer issues and concerns and actively seek to address them in developing solutions.
  5. Strong business insight and result orientation.
  6. Ability to substantially contribute to and work with multi-cultural and cross-functional teams.
  7. Entrepreneurial and self-motivated mindset; eager to seek challenges.
  8. Able to think innovatively and willing to take risks.
  9. Ability to adapt to changes and implement them accordingly.
  10. Strong analytical skills.
  11. Strong computer skills (i.e. Excel, PowerPoint, Word, OneNote, Teams).
  12. Languages: Fluent in English and Spanish. Portuguese is a plus.
